Our client works in the healthcare industry and has a multi-site presence throughout the UK. They deal with very sensitive data daily and had unfortunately reached end of life on their previous server solution.
Due to their Windows Server 2012 R2 reaching end of life in October 2023 it mean't that regular security updates were no longer being provided. Due to their data being of a sensitive nature there was no way they could continue on without reevaluating their previous server solution.
To migrate fully from an on-premise infrastructure to a cloud environment, the client already used Microsoft 365 for email services so licenses could be upgraded to support the new solution.
Server file shares were migrated to SharePoint with an improved folder structure for better organisation including multiple sites. Machines that were under the required specification for the new system were decommissioned, processed with a certified erasure and recycled, these machines were then replaced with new machines. We proceeded to configure all technology to the businesses working requirements.
